INGLEWOOD, Calif. (2UrbanGirls) – Authorities have identified the man shot to death in Inglewood on Oct. 31.
The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office identified Kevin Pleitez, 27, as the victim with the cause of death being multiple gunshot wounds.
Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. told the public that the last seven shootings in the City, since Oct. 7, have all been gang related.
“The reality is lately there have been a number of gang-related shootings and all of the victims have been gang members,” said Butts during the Nov. 7 city council meeting.
Inglewood Police Department officers responded to the 700 block of West Hillcrest Blvd. around 11:20 p.m. on Halloween to reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to witnesses, they said they heard at least 15 shots and sounded like an automatic weapon.
The victim was struck twice in the face and was transported to hospital with CPR being performed. According to the Medical Examiner’s office, the victim died at the hospital.
