WILMINGTON, Calif. – At least one person was taken to a hospital in unknown condition following a shooting in the Wilmington area.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to Sanford Avenue and East M Street shortly after 5:10 p.m. on a report of shots fired.

Reports from the scene suggested that two people — including a 4-year- old boy — may have been injured, but authorities could not immediately confirm those reports.
Police said detectives identified a vehicle involved in the crime as an older model four-door Toyota Corolla that was last seen on East M Street and Watson Avenue, heading southbound.
It’s unclear what motivated the shooting.
