An employee with the Los Angeles County Probation Department was placed on leave for undisclosed reasons.
“Today Wing Chan was walked out of the probation department for unknown reasons,” said an employee who requested anonymity since they are not authorized to speak with the media.
Chan was honored by the department last year for Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

On Oct. 3, an article was published on Insider.com that spoke to former students at Rosemead High School where sexual misconduct allegations against staff and teachers went unchecked for decades.
Chan previously worked as a tennis coach at the school and a former student, whom he is alleged to have approached to provide them with private tennis lessons, has alleged an inappropriate relationship with him.
When L. was growing up, her family didn’t have the money to support her extracurriculars. But in the 2000s, her Rosemead tennis coach, Wing Chan, pulled her aside her sophomore year to offer her private lessons, and L.’s mother began working overtime at a local nail salon to cobble together enough cash.
At first, L. was joined by a pair of classmates. But soon, it was just L. playing one-on-one with Chan. They began spending less time on the court and more time at his house. She told me she was 15 the first time they had sex.

In all, the article detailed allegations against 29 former employees of the school.
It is not known if that is why Chan was walked out today but according to Drange, Chan declined to comment on the allegations levied at him.
