DIAMOND BAR – A man on a motorcycle fatally collided with a big rig on the Orange (57) Freeway, leading to an hours-long backup Tuesday on the freeway.
The collision was reported at 1:46 a.m. and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the southbound freeway and Sunset Crossing where they found the motorcyclist, according to CHP Officer Sean Lough.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were called to the scene and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
A SigAlert was issued by the CHP for all lanes of the southbound freeway and officers diverted all traffic off the freeway to nearby Pomona.
The collision backed up the freeway for several hours.
