A man was killed attempting to cross the Harbor (110) Freeway on the border of Carson and the unincorporated West Carson area, authorities said Tuesday.
The crash was reported at approximately 11:21 p.m. Monday and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the southbound freeway and Torrance Boulevard, where they learned the pedestrian was walking in one of the freeway’s middle lanes when he was struck by an unknown number of vehicles, according to CHP Officer Sean Lough.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP issued a SigAlert that closed four lanes of the southbound freeway for several hours while officers investigated the crash.
