Los Angeles Councilman Curren D. Price Jr. is asking his supporters to contribute to his legal defense fund.
The email was sent out Oct. 16 reminding supporters the maximum contribution amount is $1800 per person.

Earlier this year, I established a Legal Defense Fund in response to the 10 criminal charges filed against me by the District Attorney’s Office. It is important for me to emphasize that these allegations are baseless, and I firmly maintain my innocence.
This past Friday, my lawyer filed a Demurrer. Much like a motion to dismiss, a Demurrer is alegal challenge to the sufficiency of the prosecutor’s Complaint. The court will hear our motion December 15th. To date, there has not been an arraignment in this matter. While this is an initial action in my defense, the case is still ongoing, and the need for financial support remains critical.
Effectively mounting a strong defense requires significant resources, including considerable legal fees. Therefore, I humbly request your consideration in making a donation today. Your contribution will directly support my ability to effectively respond to these misguided charges.
