LOS ANGELES- A 23-year-old man was struck and killed on the southbound Hollywood (101) Freeway in East Hollywood before sunrise Friday and the vehicle’s driver fled.
Officers were sent to the freeway near the Vermont Avenue off-ramp about 4:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The southbound portion of the freeway was closed until about 10:30 a.m. while an investigation was conducted, the CHP reported.
Lorenzo Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
