INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Inglewood taxpayers are footing the bill for another sexual harassment claim alleged by a City employee earlier this year.
An invoice from CAL Quest Investigations indicates the firm was solicited by Human Resources to investigate a claim made by a female staff member against her supervisor on January 23.
According to the firm’s website, they specialize in surveillance operations related to Worker’s Compensation, Liability, Subrogation, and Background Investigations, not sexual harassment.
The staff report noted the firm was skilled in bilingual communications.
The invoice submitted for the city council to approve is $7.140. The firm billed the City $150 per hour to perform in-person interviews at City Hall and telephonic interviews.
The Tustin-based firm billed taxpayers $1,050 for seven days of travel and an additional $315 for 350 miles of travel. It appears taxpayers are being double billed as the invoice only indicates they were physically in Inglewood for less than 20 hours.
Taxpayers were billed $250 for the firm to collect documents and review City policies, and an additional $600 to translate one statement from Spanish to English and create an accompanying report.
The invoice is dated April 18 but includes aa $250 discount dated May 19.
