SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – A Metrolink train struck a person on the tracks in Santa Clarita Wednesday, but there was no immediate word on the person’s condition.
A Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman said the agency responded around 6 a.m. to a report of a traffic collision near Soledad Canyon Road and Ruether Avenue, but no additional information was immediately available.
Metrolink officials reported that train 202 struck a “person on the tracks” between the Santa Clarita and Via Princessa stations, resulting in a full track closure, which continued into mid-morning Wednesday and resulted in delays and cancellations of some other trains on the Antelope Valley line.
Affected passengers were being urged to utilize Metro buses in the area, or take advantage of Uber vouchers provided by Metrolink in the event of train cancellations.
