HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – A 46-year-old Huntington Beach man was killed when he was struck by an SUV on a major street in that city, authorities said Monday.
The crash occurred at about 10 p.m. Sunday on Beach Boulevard north of Speer Drive, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department’s Jessica Cuchilla. That is south of Slater Avenue.
The injured man was rushed to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead, Cuchilla said.
The man was struck by a 2003 Lincoln Navigator that was southbound on Beach Boulevard in lane 4, she said.
The 33-year-old Huntington Beach woman driving the Navigator remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, Cuchilla said.
The HBPD Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) was investigating the crash and anyone who witnessed it or events leading up to it was asked to call Traffic Investigator Rattanchandani at 714-536-5231.
