HOLLYWOOD, Calif.- A stolen car suspect is in police custody Friday after leading police on a chase that began in Hollywood and finally ended with his arrest in Beverly Hills.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division responded at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday to a break-in at a Toyota dealership in the 6000 block of Hollywood Boulevard, KABC 7 reported.
Video showed the suspect stealing keys from the dealership’s lock box after vandalizing the interior and instead of heeding officers’ calls to surrender, he stole a white sedan, smashed through the dealership’s fence and sped away, according to KABC 7.
Police pursued the suspect through Hollywood to Beverly Hills, where he stopped at a Lamborghini dealership at 8423 Wilshire Blvd. Using rocks and other debris, the suspect broke a window at the dealership, went inside and an hour-long standoff ensued.
Around 3 a.m. Beverly Hills police moved in, subdued the suspect with a Taser and took him into custody, according to an LAPD spokesman.
