Dear 2UrbanGirls,
I am sure you didn’t know this but were you aware that Inglewood Unified School District quietly sold a portion of Morningside High School to the Los Angeles Clippers?

That’s why only the west side of the school was remodeled.
The east side is gated off, the old classrooms boarded up and abandoned. When will Ballmer do something with the property? What is he going to put there? Does the community know about this?
The Morningside High Alumni Association has received thousands of dollars from Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr.’s campaign accounts so its probably why the news isn’t public but just a “rumor” around town.
It could also explain the City’s newfound cozy relationship with the County Administrators.

Whatever negative we encounter in our schools may lead directly back to the insulting statement made at a meeting about the closure of Worthington where the LACounty Superintendent of Public Schools -Debra Duardo told those gathered that non-parents were not impacted by school closures, and therefore had no place participating in those decisions.
Really in that case many of us should get lifelong tax rebates. Does TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION ring a bell ? How about the right to participation in how our dollars are spent. If we close the school there are fewer expenses.
This over-impressed with herself appointee was granted this position by vote of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors May 2016. At that time Mark Ridley Thomas was our representative. Sadly when MRT’s replacement was made aware of the extremely inappropriate statement we were told that “Supervisor Holly Mitchell has nothing to do with LACOE.”
Hmmm….does Mitchell have a vested personal interest in destroying Inglewood and the School District or on the gentle side is she simply clueless about her responsibilities only concerned about the Joy’s of her take home pay?
Each elected and their appointees need to be held accountable.
