SANTA ANA, Calif. – A pedestrian in Santa Ana was struck and killed Sunday by a vehicle, whose motorist stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched to 900 W. First St. at about 5:10 a.m. regarding a pedestrian down in traffic lanes and found the victim in the roadway, the Santa Ana Police Department reported.
The pedestrian was crossing First Street when he was struck by a vehicle going eastbound, police said. The motorist behind the wheel stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
Paramedics rushed the pedestrian to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Alcohol was not factor in the crash, police said.
