“Power 106” KPWR Los Angeles is heading to mediation in an effort to resolve a dispute over copyrighted photos the Meruelo Media rhythmic CHR allegedly posted on its website without permission. The station was slapped last fall with a copyright infringement suit for displaying photos of Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Drake and other celebs on its social media accounts.

Filed in U.S. District Court in the Central District of California, the suit claims KPWR “reproduced, distributed, displayed, and created unauthorized derivative works” of Backgrid’s pics of Cardi B, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Saweetie, Drake, and Dr. Dre on the station’s social media accounts without first obtaining permission or a license to do so. All in, Backgrid says the station infringed on its copyrights to at least nine celebrity photos in violation of federal law.
