LOS ANGELES – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Thursday to its highest amount since Nov. 29, increasing 2.2 cents to $5.029.
The average price has increased five of the past six days following a five-day streak of decreases totaling 2.2 cents, increasing 5.7 cents, including 2.4 cents Wednesday, its largest increase since March 3, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 5 cents more than one week ago and 13.2 cents higher than one month ago but 69.9 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.465 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5.
The Orange County average price rose to its highest amount since Nov. 29, $4.955, with an increase of 1.9 cents. It has risen five of the past six days, increasing 6.2 cents, including 2.6 cents Wednesday, its largest increase since April 7.
The run of increases follows a run of six decreases in seven days totaling 4.5 cents.
The Orange County average price is 5.5 cents more than one week ago and 13.4 cents higher than one month ago but 68.4 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.504 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5.
The national average price rose for the ninth consecutive day, increasing 2.7 cents to $3.714. It has risen 15.1 cents over the past nine days, including 5.1 cents Wednesday.
The national average price is 13.4 cents more than one week ago and 15 cents higher than one month ago but 58.8 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.302 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
