COMPTON (2UG) – The City of Compton could be making a change in the city manager’s office according to its July 11 city council agenda.
Thomas Thomas was named City Manager after a nationwide search was performed after the departure of Craig Cornwell in 2021.
It is no secret, Thomas clashes with City Attorney Eric Perrodin and has caught the ire of employee unions, particularly the firefighters for failure to renew their contract.
The City adopted its FY 2023-2024 budget during a special city council meeting held June 28.
During a budget workshop held June 6, the tension between Thomas and Perrodin was evident when the city attorney threatened to sue the council for their failure to perform their duties as outlined in the City Charter.

The July 11 agenda includes three agenda items related to the city manager.
The first is his performance evaluation, followed by the council’s decision to dismiss and if they don’t, the last item is to appoint him back to the position, Pursuant to California Government Code Section 54957.

Perrodin is a f’n crook. PERIOD!
Is Perrodin trying to position himself as the next city manager? Has that been the plan all along…he’d have all the control.
I just find it funny that all of a sudden he’s so vocal and passionate about everything.
Who would become the city attorney of that were to happen?
Who the heck knows with Compton. I’m sure some shady person is on standby.
