BALDWIN PARK, Calif. – A La Puente man was identified as the person killed when his motorcycle struck an attenuator on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Baldwin Park and overturned, propelling him into traffic lanes, where he was struck by two vehicles, authorities said Monday.
Armando Coronado was 34 years old, according to the Medical Examiner’s office.
The crash occurred at 1:55 a.m. Sunday on the northbound San Gabriel River Freeway, south of the San Bernardino (10) Freeway, California Highway Patrol Officer R. Lawson reported.
Coronado was driving a black 2018 Harley Davidson when it left the roadway, struck the attenuator and was tossed into traffic lanes, where he was struck by a 2017 Honda and a 2015 Mercedes-Benz, Lawson said. The officer said Coronado was killed in the crash and run over after he died. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither the woman driving the Honda nor the man driving the Mercedes and the woman riding with him were injured, Lawson said.
The crash remained under investigation.
