LYNWOOD, Calif. (2UG) – The family of a woman killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Lynwood have established a GoFundMe to assist with their care of her children.
The victim was identified as Beatriz Rafael, who was ejected from her vehicle during the early morning collision June 1.
“Hello, my name is Lilly and I humbly come to you asking for help so we can lay my niece Beatriz Rafael to rest with a peaceful ceremony. She passed tragically on June 1st, 2023. My sister is a single mother and works hard to support her kids, her home and our elderly dad. The funds raised will help us cover the funeral and burial. We are putting all of our resources together but we need help. Any amount is helpful and greatly appreciated. We also ask for prayers as this has hit us all very hard,” wrote the victim’s sister Lillian Rafael.
“Beatriz loved hiking, her Dodgers, all things Disney and Star Wars. She adored her family and she is very loved by us all. Her passion for running marathons, 5Ks and 10Ks brought her much joy. We cannot fathom our lives without her. She is a huge part of our family and we are lost without her. Please help in any way you can and say a prayer for her and her family. We thank you wholeheartedly.”
According to the CHP, witnesses said a black Jeep might have hit the freeway’s center and multiple vehicles, including a silver Mini Cooper, and sustained significant damage.
Sources close to Beatriz allege that foul play could have been the cause of the fatal crash which is believed to have been recorded by a motorist.
