GARDENA, Calif. – A male pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Gardena, authorities said Monday.
The crash was reported at 10:23 p.m. Sunday on El Segundo Boulevard just west of Normandie Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness told the CHP the pedestrian was trapped under the vehicle.
The person was rushed to a hospital in an ambulance, where he was pronounced dead, according to CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig.
The victims name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
