MONTEREY PARK, Calif. – Police discovered a man’s body Saturday near a freeway overpass in Monterey Park.
Officers dispatched at 1:36 a.m. to Atlantic Boulevard near the Pomona (60) Freeway overpass located a man down in the middle of the northbound lanes, according to Sgt. Arlene Chaidez of the Monterey Park Police Department.
“The subject was unresponsive and appeared to have been struck by an unknown vehicle,” Chaidez said. “The Monterey Park Fire Department responded to the location and pronounced the subject dead at the scene.”
The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The department’s Traffic Bureau urged anyone with information about the fatal crash to call them at 626-307-1200.
