HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – A man was arrested Friday for allegedly assaulting a woman and abducting a child in Hollywood in what authorities called a “possible parental kidnapping” of the boy, who was found safe.
Officers sent to the 1500 block of Vine Street about 8:10 a.m. found a woman who had been injured, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The woman, in her 30s, apparently suffered a “strangulation to her neck” and was taken to a hospital for treatment in unknown condition, police said.
Investigators were told that a juvenile was missing, and the case was classified as a “possible parental kidnapping.” The boy’s age was not disclosed.
Police said the man and boy left in a 2019 four-door dark gray vehicle, possibly heading toward Van Nuys. Details of the relationship between the man, woman and boy were not released by police.
Shortly after 2 p.m., police reported that the man had been arrested and child recovered, but no other details were immediately released. The man’s name was not released.
