BATON ROUGE, La. — HB. 321, also known as the Truth and Transparency Act by its proponents, passed in the Louisiana House of Representatives on Thursday. The bill would require Caddo, Orleans and East Baton Rouge parishes to create online portals where the criminal records of violent juvenile offenders above the age of 13 could be viewed.
The criminal records could only contain a certain list of crimes listed on page four of the bill.
The legislation still has to pass the Louisiana State Senate and receive the governor’s signature before it could become state law.
