LOS ANGELES – A pit bull was shot by Los Angeles police and killed Tuesday in the South Los Angeles area, authorities said.
Officers were sent to 70th Street and Vermont Avenue at about 10:25 a.m. on a report that a person had been bitten by a dog, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
One person was taken to a hospital for treatment of an unspecified injury, police said. No officers were injured.
The circumstances of the shooting were under investigation.
