While many political hopefuls are looking forward to the upcoming 2024 election cycle, a host of well-known names have opened campaign committees to run for Lt. Governor in 2026.
Steve Bradford, Anthony Rendon, Kevin de Léon, Melissa Menendez, Bill Lockyer, Robert Garcia, Reggie Jones-Sawyer, and Mike Gatto are some of the names who are actively raising funds for a potential run.
Vice-President Kamala Harris has opened a 2026 account for Governor to succeed Gavin Newsom.
“These are tactics used to raise funds, not necessarily run for those seats,” said a political strategist who declined to be named for this story. “Once these funds are raised they can be moved to other races so who knows if this will be who actually runs.”
