NORTH HOLLYWOOD – Authorities Saturday identified a man who died after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision in North Hollywood.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded at approximately 11:15 p.m. Friday to Vanowen Street and Vineland Avenue, where they learned the victim was crossing the street at Vanowen when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old woman, according to an LAPD spokeswoman.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified by the coroner’s office as 30-year-old Alejandro Garcia.
The driver was located several blocks away but it was unknown whether she was taken into custody.
