Assembly District 57 candidate Efren Martinez continues to gain support throughout the district despite the lack of endorsement from Reggie Jones-Sawyer who has endorsed two women two succeed him.
Martinez has received the unanimous support of the districts delegates. Their absolute support places Martinez in a commanding position in the State Assembly race.
“This is more than an endorsement; it’s a powerful statement. It’s the echo of a shared belief in a vision,” said Martinez, “The trust shown by the Delegates is a testament to our campaign’s dedication to integrity, transparency, and relentless pursuit of progress for South Los Angeles and California as a whole,” Martinez continued.
The district makeup has shifted to being primarily Latino. With a total of 212,826 registered voters, over half of them are registered Democrats with 113,445 Latino residents compared to 57.169 identifying as Black.
Martinez has the endorsement of a large number of elected officials through Southeast Los Angeles.
Martinez currently serves as the Chair of the LAUSD Board of Education Compensation Review Committee and a past executive director of the Florence-Firestone/Walnut Park Chamber of Commerce.
