WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – A group of suspects arrested in an armed robbery in Beverly Hills may have been involved in an armed robbery outside a restaurant in West Hollywood a day earlier, along with other possible crimes, it was reported Wednesday.
According to the Beverly Hills Police Department, officers went to Wilshire Boulevard and Bedford Drive at about 5:23 p.m. on April 26 on a report of an armed robbery.
“Prior to police arrival, the suspects drove south on Bedford Drive from Wilshire Boulevard in a silver Dodge sedan,” police said in a statement.
Officers saw a vehicle matching the description and tried to stop it.
“After officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle made evasive maneuvers and a pursuit ensued,” police said. “The pursuit ended in the area of Cotner Avenue and North Santa Monica Boulevard in the city of Los Angeles. All four occupants of the vehicle were detained. The investigation led to the arrest of the four occupants and the recovery of handgun and rifle in the suspect’s vehicle.”
Briana Threets, an 18-year-old Oakland woman, and Keymaurie Clark, a 26-year-old Oakland man, were arrested on suspicion of robbery, police said. Also arrested were two 15-year-olds — a boy and a girl. No further information was released about those two.
“There were three victims associated with this armed robbery and their property was recovered at the conclusion of the investigation,” police said.
“The suspect vehicle was later deemed to have been stolen prior to this crime,” police said. “BHPD detectives are actively following up on leads and believe there may be other recent robberies involving the same group of suspects.”
Among those crimes was a robbery that occurred at 9:15 p.m. April 25 at Santa Monica Boulevard and Orlando Avenue, near La Boheme restaurant in West Hollywood, West Hollywood City Manager David Wilson said.
“The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station has been working closely with Beverly Hills and believes that the four individuals in custody may have been the same four suspects involved in the West Hollywood robbery,” Wilson told the West Hollywood City Council on Monday night.
A manager at La Boheme told KNX radio that the robbery took place in an alley behind the restaurant near the valet stand, and that the victims were customers leaving the establishment.
Video footage posted by the news website Wehoville shows two suspects, one of whom appeared to be carrying a rifle, possibly an AK-47, robbing two people.
