POMONA, Calif. – A person was killed during a street race Wednesday night.
Pomona Police Officers in the area of Holt Ave and Clark Ave heard a traffic collision nearby about 11:49 p.m.
Upon arrival, they located a person trapped inside a Honda. The male driver was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and the female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities believe the female is in her 30s.
Witnesses told authorities the Honda was racing with a car when the driver of the Honda lost control and crashed into a Dodge Charger. The other driver suffered no injuries as a result of the collision.
The car that was racing the Honda fled the scene and the crash remains under investigation.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
