SYLMAR, Calif. – A man was killed Friday when he was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle as he walked along a street in the Sylmar area.
The man in his 40s was injured about 12:50 a.m. on Hubbard Street west of Adelphia Avenue and died at a hospital, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. Information on his identity was not immediately available.
According to police, the man was walking on the north side of Hubbard, pushing a shopping cart, when he was hit by a dark-colored sedan.
“The dark-colored sedan continued westbound and stopped near the area of Hubbard Street and Dronfield Avenue, where the driver momentarily exited the vehicle … (then) re-entered the vehicle and drove away,” police said.
The hit-and-run driver was described as a woman in her 20s, police said.
A standing reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a fatal hit-and-run.
