NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – A 34-year-old man was fatally stabbed near a Metro Station in North Hollywood, authorities said Saturday.
Los Angeles Police officers were called at approximately 8:09 p.m. Friday to Chandler Avenue and Tujunga Boulevard, west of the light rail station where they learned the victim was walking on Chandler when he encountered another man and an argument ensued, according to an LAPD spokeswoman.
The suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim and then ran away from the scene, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
There were no further details available.
The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the shooting was under investigation. Anyone with information was asked to call the LAPD at 877-527-3247.
