GARDENA, Calif. – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Gardena Thursday evening.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters responded to Cerise and Rosecrans avenues at around 8:45 p.m. after receiving reports about a person struck by a vehicle, authorities said.
Paramedics performed lifesaving measures, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead.
The accident prompted street closures.
The department’s Traffic Bureau is investigating the collision.
