LOS ANGELES – Firefighters Sunday discovered a man’s body while battling a blaze at a three-story building in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
Firefighters dispatched at 5:41 a.m. to 8604 S. Broadway had the fire out within 26 minutes of their arrival, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
“During their offensive attack of the flames, firefighters discovered an unresponsive adult male within the structure who proved beyond medical help,” said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department. “He was determined to be dead and remains at the scene.”
No other injuries were reported and a cause of the fire was under investigation.
