LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. – At least two people were shot near the Laguna Hills Community Center, but the circumstances and conditions of the victims remain unclear, according to multiple media reports.
The shooting was reported at 10:06 p.m. Saturday in the vicinity of Alicia Parkway and Paseo De Valencia in Laguna Hills.
“This evening, at about 10 p.m., deputies responded to the Laguna Hills Community Center (in) reference (to) a report of gun shots being heard,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said in a media statement.
“When deputies arrived, they discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing. There is no threat to the public.”
It was not considered an active shooter or mass shooting event and there was no threat to the community, Orange County Sheriff’s Sgt. Frank Gonzalez told the Orange County Register.
