LOS ANGELES – Authorities are investigating the death of a person in South LA Sunday morning.
Authorities with the Los Angeles police and fire departments were on the scene to investigate a building fire in the 8600 block of south Broadway and a death around the corner near a Metro bus stop on Manchester Blvd.
It is not known if the death and fire are connected. There are visible homeless encampments in the immediate area where the body was discovered.

The building fire is next to a soon-to-be-developed affordable housing project on a vacant lot located at 8727 S. Broadway.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the shooting was under investigation. Anyone with information was asked to call the LAPD at 877-527-3247.
