Quinn A.M.E Church has a long and rich history of serving the Moreno Valley community for nearly three decades, and they continue to honor their heritage while striving to meet the needs of the people in Riverside County, particularly the City of Moreno Valley.

“Moreno Valley and the whole Riverside County area is chock full of families who commute long distances to work and school. Families where both parents are working and sometimes even have side hustles! In short, lots of folks who have the opposite of 9-5 schedules,” said Pastor Martin C. Porter. “Our vision is to have relevant ministry programs that make a practical difference in people’s lives. Ministries that teach people how to live, love, handle finances, parent, start and run a business, be an outstanding employee, how to find a husband or a wife, and ultimately how to come into a relationship with Jesus Christ.”

Pastor Martin Porter is supported by his lovely wife, and soon-to-be first-time mom, First Lady Anita Porter who came to the ministry in late 2022.
Pastor Porter is passionate about ministry and focused on bringing a positive, purpose-filled message centered on Jesus Christ and the Gospel and embodying The Gospel in Moreno Valley by serving the community through fresh, new ministries and programs centered on families.
The church has a simple survey it has issued to assess the needs of Moreno Valley residents. After reviewing the results of the survey, they will respond with an outreach and welcoming campaign, followed by new programs that focus on helping families.
“Many churches have moved away from the Gospel Message and turned into social or political clubs, attempting to fit into the culture, instead of holding the culture to a higher standard- than being the life and teachings of Jesus Christ,” said Porter.
Pastor Porter feels called to minister to the “missing middle” in Moreno Valley and Riverside County area.

“The missing middle are families who want nothing more than to build a prosperous and secure future for themselves and their kids but often get forgotten in the fractured culture, and polarizing politics and movements of the moment,” said Porter. “Most people hunger for spiritual power, second chances, a sense of purpose, and hope but they get shouted at and talked down to by all sides entrenched in this deeply divisive world we find ourselves in.”
First Lady Anita Porter was born and raised in Moreno Valley and has a strong connection and passion for providing for families in her hometown.
“Often the black community is painted as having only one point of view and one perspective,” said First Lady Porter. “Media, culture, and many of our leaders who are the most vocal in the community, leave out all the rich differences, perspectives, and hues that exist. Sometimes they miss the hard-working families, married couples, parents, and kids who work hard and want church and ministries that give them the tools they need to thrive!”
Pastor Porter urges everyone who reads this article online to click on the link that will be provided so that the church can do just that! Create ministries and programs that provide families with the tools they need to thrive.
