LOS ANGELES – Two carjacking suspects were arrested Monday in the south Los Angeles area.
The crime occurred early Monday morning in the 1000 block of East Vernon Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to police, a male victim was seated in a 2003 Honda Accord outside a laundry with another person when two men confronted them at knifepoint and injured the man.
The suspects allegedly forced the pair out of the car and drove off, and police were notified.
“Officers observed the vehicle and initiated a pursuit,” police said in a statement. “The pursuit terminated when the suspect lost control of the vehicle and (crashed) into a median.”
One man was arrested near the crash scene in the Willowbrook area, and a second man was arrested after police set up a perimeter. Their names were not immediately available.
