LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach police sought the public’s help Thursday identifying the driver responsible for a hit-and-run collision that fatally injured a pedestrian.
The man was struck Feb. 19 near Pacific Coast Highway between Pasadena and Linden avenues, police said.
Officers spotted the man lying in traffic lanes, and police determined he had been hit by a westbound vehicle while he was walking across PCH, according to police.
The man was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not believed to be non life-threatening at the time. But his condition began to deteriorate, and police said they were notified Monday the man had died on Friday.
Police released surveillance video Thursday that shows a dark-colored sedan, which is missing a driver’s side mirror.
