Target Corporation will host the grand opening of its newest location in the city of Inglewood on April 2.
The grand opening will take place at the newest location at 220 N. LaBrea Ave. which is directly across the street from the Metro K-Line.
The event will be held between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.
According to Target’s website, the new location is 34,000 square feet and is on the ground floor of the Astra apartments.
The Astra apartment complex is a six-story building with 242 market-rate apartments above 48,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and a 438-car garage. Each of those units will include a stackable washer-dryer set, kitchen appliances, and balconies.
According to Apartments.com units in Astra range in size from 541 to 1,325 with rents ranging from $2500 to $5045 per month.
The project is attached to an affordable housing developer and Mayor James T. Butts Jr’s campaign donor Thomas Safran who was awarded control of several parcels south of Astra for affordable housing projects that have yet to break ground.
Inglewood elected officials are expected to be on hand for the ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony. It is unknown which councilperson will be on hand to represent Council District 1.
It is unknown whether it will be newly elected Councilwoman Gloria Gray or George Dotson as no public announcements have been made as to when she will take her seat on the dais.
