Inglewood residents living in Council District 1 will vote today to elect their council representative to a four-year term.
Incumbent Councilman George Dotson is facing West Basin Water Board member Gloria Gray in a runoff since neither captured more than 50% of the vote in the Nov. 8 general election. The third top vote-getter declined to support either candidate.
Both are longtime Inglewood residents with strong ties to the City.
Dotson previously served on the Planning Commission before succeeding Mike Stevens to represent the 1st District since 2013.
Gray previously served on the Inglewood Unified School District board before moving on to the water board.
The lone polling location is the Center of Hope church gymnasium which is located at 9550 S. Crenshaw Blvd. District 1 residents can vote in person between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Due to the election, there will not be a regular city council meeting.
