IRWINDALE, Calif. – A driver has died after crashing into a tree early Saturday morning, according to authorities.

Irwindale officers and fire personnel responded to a traffic collision in the area of north Irwindale Ave. and Central Street.
Upon arrival, they located a Honda that crashed into a tree with one person trapped.
Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to cut the doors off to remove the trapped person who was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is not known what caused the crash.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
