SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – A man who was stabbed to death in Santa Clarita was identified Monday.
Eduardo Rosario Becerril, 25, of Newhall, was pronounced dead at the scene of the stabbing, which was reported at 11:36 p.m. Saturday in the 22500 block of 14th Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Becerril’s family has established a GoFundMe account to assist with funeral and burial expenses.
“His sudden death has come as complete devastation to the entire family. Eduardo was a kind and gentle person who was such a light in everyone’s lives. He brought so much joy, laughter, and kindness everywhere he went. He touched the lives of everyone he encountered with his selfless and compassionate nature. He loved spending time with his family, playing basketball, and spending time with his dog, Rosy. His gentle and kind soul will forever be missed,” said Natalie Rosario, organizer and sister-in-law.
Deputies dispatched to the location regarding a call of men fighting inside a business discovered the victim suffering from stab wounds to his upper body. The fight occurred at Dooly’s Liquor & Market, according to a source at the location.
“Santa Clarita station deputies detained persons of interest and investigators are continuing the investigations,” sheriff’s officials said.
