LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach police promised Saturday that more officers will be available over the weekend to try to prevent a string of commercial burglaries that have plagued the business community.
“In response to recent commercial burglaries, we have additional resources working this weekend to investigate all leads, engage with our business community and increase visibility citywide,” the Long Beach Police Department said on Twitter.
It also offered a list of 14 safety tips for businesses, including making sure the business is well-lit inside and outside, emptying the cash register and leaving the drawer open, locking up electronics, clearing signs and notices out of windows to improve visibility, and installing video surveillance and alarm systems.
I am proud to announce that, in the next few weeks, our @LBHealthDept will be opening up a second Winter Shelter for people experiencing homelessness. pic.twitter.com/R5JnwYMhFc
