According to the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Police Department will provide increased security around Jewish institutions across the city after the shootings of two men outside synagogues in Pico-Robertson over two days, community leaders say.
These attacks against members of our Jewish community are unacceptable.
— Mayor Karen Bass (@MayorOfLA) February 16, 2023
My office is monitoring these incidents and I am working closely with @CD5LosAngeles Katy Yaroslavsky, @jfedla‘s @RabbiNoah, and other community leaders to ensure that ALL Angelenos feel safe. https://t.co/rjiYYfzuCk
South LA residents should be this fortunate.
Two women were shot yesterday at a chicken restaurant at Vernon and Western and there was no social media post from Bass calling the shooting “unacceptable” despite the fact one of the women died.
Today Bass’ office announced her Inside Safe Initiative is hitting Yaroslavsky’s district, which includes Jewish synagogues, which gives the impression it is believed the homeless are committing these crimes.
Where is the same concern when violence is happening daily South of the 10?

I think black men shooting each other in gang related disputes is quite different than a random madman going around shooting Jews. But yeah it would be nice if Karen Bass talked about other racial groups too when they are attacked. Like the current wave of black-on-Asian hate attacks we’ve been seeing across the country.
