Asm. Isaac Bryan has spoken loud and clear on whether he intends to run for Los Angeles City Council.
2UrbanGirls has speculated endlessly that he would declare for the seat and he has alerted his followers that he plans to stay where he’s at.
Yesterday another candidate for the LA City 10th Council District announced their candidacy, and because I am the State Assemblymember who actually represents nearly all of the 10th in Sacramento many people are wondering if/when I will also join the race…And the answer is, that I do not plan on joining the race. I didn’t get in to public service to chase the best salary, or collect as many titles as I can.
I got in to public service to do the work — the absolute best job I can do for my community, to put everyday people over self, and to improve the conditions of life across all of California.
I was also just re-elected with nearly 85% of the vote and more ballots cast for me than any other State Assemblymember in LA County. I love my district, and I’m not done with the job they have sent me here to do.
That being said I will definitely be endorsing at some point in the race. Government works best when all levels are fighting the same fight and building on each others work. Thank you for always believing in me the way I believe in us. I’ll keep you posted.
