LOS ANGELES – Two people were killed when a moving vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle on the wrong side of a street in the Mission Hills area of Los Angeles.

The crash was reported about 11:40 p.m. Sunday in the 10100 block of Woodman Avenue, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Lizeth Lomelli.
Firefighters were already on the scene when officers arrived just after midnight, Lomelli said.

The vehicle was northbound on Woodman Avenue when it crossed over to the southbound side and crashed into a parked vehicle, she said.
A male rear-seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, Lomelli said. A female front-seat passenger was rushed to a hospital by paramedics but was pronounced dead there.
The status of the vehicle’s driver was not immediately available.
