WESTMINSTER, Calif. – A man was killed Sunday by a hit-and-run vehicle in Westminster, authorities said.
Officers dispatched to the 14300 block of Newland Street at about 2:35 a.m. regarding a person down in traffic lanes, and located the man down in the northbound lanes of Newland Street, north of Hazard Avenue, the Westminster Police Department reported.
The man showed signs of being struck by a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle fled prior to the arrival of officers.
Probably not the best time to enact a new law inviting people to jaywalk, or refuse to enforce laws for driving without a license or on a suspended license. L.A. traffic deaths rose in 2022, surpassing 300 fatalities for first time in two decades https://t.co/ZDIiXhXybK
