JOSHUA TREE, Calif. – An Orange County woman in her 50s was found dead in Joshua Tree National Park, authorities said today.
According to officials from the National Park Service, park rangers responded to reports of an injured hiker in the Rattlesnake Canyon in the Indian Cove district of the park late on Saturday, Fox 11 reported.
The woman apparently suffered a fatal head injury.
According to Fox 11, authorities said “no signs of foul play were present.”
“Do not attempt to hike in these areas unless you are prepared for this environment,” the National Park Service said in a statement.
