ANAHEIM, Calif. – It’s Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse’s birthday! In honor of this special occasion, the Disneyland Resort is pleased to announce the official reopening date of Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland park – March 8, 2023!

An exciting transformation of MickeyÕs Toontown is underway at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif., and will officially reopen for guests March 8, 2023. The land will offer some all-new experiences for families and young children to have more opportunities to play together. Seen in this new concept art, among all of the fun guests will be able to enjoy are a whimsical sound garden where kids will discover new ways to make wacky noises in GoofyÕs How-To-Play Yard, spinning water lilies, balance beams and rocking toys at DonaldÕs Duck Pond and more. Last year Disney announced Mickey’s Toontown would be reimagined with more interactive play areas.

We have photos of the changes you can expect to see when you visit the happiest place on Earth!

Keep in mind the Disneyland Resort is offering a special promotion for residents of Southern California now through May 25.

For a limited time, residents can purchase a three-day, one-park-per-day weekday ticket for $73 per person. The standard price for this ticket offer is $83 for one ticket. The tickets don’t have to be used consecutively.

Southern California Resident Limited-Time Weekday Ticket Offer

  • Three-day, one park per day weekday ticket for $219
  • Three-day, park hopper weekday ticket for $279
  • Three-day, one park per day weekday ticket with Disney Genie+ service for $294
  • Three-day, park hopper weekday ticket with Disney Genie+ service for $354

The tickets are currently on sale for weekday visits from Jan. 9 through May 25. Guests who visit the park during this time can partake in Lunar New Year and Disney’s Food and Wine Festival at the California Adventure Park.

Visitors can also experience Disney100, a celebration to mark the Walt Disney Co.’s 100th anniversary. Two new nighttime shows, “Wondrous Journeys” and “World of Color-One,” will debut for the festival. An updated version of Mickey’s Toontown will open during the festivities along with a new ride, “Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.”

To purchase tickets and reserve your space visit Disneyland’s website here.

One of the new areas coming to Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif., on March 8, 2023, will be CenTOONial Park, the first space guests will see when they enter. This natural space will be anchored by two interactive play experiences. At the center of CenTOONial Park will be a fountain, designed for play, which will also become a center icon for Mickey’s Toontown. At its base, water tables will invite guests to play with the water and have a sensory experience. At night, the fountain will be brought to life in a unique spectacle. A nearby dreaming tree with sculpted tree roots will provide an opportunity for children to play, crawl and explore, and undulating topography will offer rolling hills and a place to sit and dream. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open at Disneyland Park on Jan. 27, 2023, when the Disney 100 Years of Wonder Celebration comes to life at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. Guests will take a journey inside a Mickey Mouse cartoon short. Once guests step into the cartoon world of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, they’ll board a train with Goofy as the engineer for an out-of-control adventure filled with surprising twists and turns. Pictured here, is a closer look at what guests will see when they enter the attraction queue in El CapiTOON Theater where a special exhibit created by the Toontown Hysterical Society is celebrating all things Mickey with costumes and props from the toon world. This artist concept photo shows a first look inside Goofy’s House coming to Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif., when the newly reimagined land reopens March 8, 2023. Mickey’s Toontown is currently undergoing an exciting transformation into a vibrant symphony of sights, sounds and sensations. Inside Goofy’s house, Goofy has set up a candy-making contraption that only he could imagine. The confectionary contraption begins high outside of Goofy’s home, as drips of honey fall from a beehive onto a chute that slides the colorful drops around and down into the home. From there, junior candymakers will help Goofy make the candy, and the silly sounds of household appliances will combine to make a truly Goofy symphony. (Artist Concept/Disneyland Resort)
Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard, complete with a playful sound garden, is coming to Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif., when it reopens March 8, 2023. Mickey’s Toontown is currently undergoing an exciting transformation into a vibrant symphony of sights, sounds and sensations. We are stepping into a new era of inclusive experiences in the land for families of all ages. (Artist Concept/Disneyland Resort)
