Dear 2UrbanGirls,
Parent Elementary has long been perceived as the “crown jewel” of Inglewood Unified School District due to it being located in a wealthier area of the district.
The affluent community allows the school to take advantage of having robust fundraising efforts that have enhanced since the NFL came to town. The parent’s group has a kiosk over at SoFi Stadium and we were invited to Super Bowl 56.
But with that comes sacrifice. We are always the “go-to” for City Hall for support and now we are facing a crisis at the school since returning from the holiday break.
Students have returned to class with many missing teachers. They have substitutes who assign students work to do on the computer with very little teaching being done. It feels like remote learning but in a classroom setting.
I know we just got a new County Administrator who may not be fully aware of all the challenges throughout the district. At one point it was speculated that the school would close due to consolidation but the district is focusing on closing schools near the stadium.
We are paying an obscene amount of money towards the district on our property taxes as homeowners want to invest in our children’s education, but we are paying top prices for bargain rate services.
Please help!
Frustrated parent, homeowner

The same goes for Worthington. The new principal is terrible and half the teachers are substitutes. After Mr. Gregory left that school went to crap.
