INGLEWOOD, Calif. (2UrbanGirls) – Inglewood police are investigating an early morning shooting at a local park, according to residents who live nearby.

Officers responded to Darby Park located at 3400 W. Arbor Vitae at around 4:30 a.m. to a report of shots fired.
“The shooting lasted for nearly 30 minutes before police arrived,” said a resident who declined to be identified.
“Six police units are investigating the outdoor basketball courts near the Hollypark Knolls apartment complex,” said another resident.
According to signs posted around the park’s Arbor Vitae parking lot and the entrance to the recreation center, surveillance cameras have been installed. It is not known if they are installed near either the basketball or tennis courts.
There is no word on any known injuries or why it took officers 30 minutes to respond.
